About Laurel

Hello, I'm Laurel! I have 9 years of experience working in childcare. I have worked as a Montessori Teacher, a Pre-K Teacher, a nanny, a 1st grade Teacher's Aide, and a babysitter. I also studied Anthropology and worked as an Archeologist. I grew up on my family's farm as the oldest of 9 cousins, and with that developed a natural love of taking care of children, a love for the outdoors, and a love of animals. I love working with kids as it is so important to create safe spaces for them to develop their independence, creativity, wonder, and intellect in places where they feel love and joy! In my spare time, I love to be outside! I love to swim, hike, explore, read, create art, and spend time with family and friends. My skills include creative play, creating and facilitating developmentally appropriate activities, meal and snack time, nap and bedtime, potty training and diapering, household chores, patience and gentleness, guidance and redirection, and communication.
