Hi, I'm Laura! I have had the privilege of caring for newborns to teens for 25 years as a live-in, travel, and full-time nanny. I hold a Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Licensed Professional Counselor, well versed in child development and psychology. I also hold a Masters in Thanatology (death, dying & bereavement) and am a grief therapist in private practice. This sacred service has instilled in me a deep compassion for people at every stage of life. I approach all interactions with intention and kindness, fostering a healthy attachment with children through a balance of individualized attention and autonomy, providing a safe environment for children to explore their world. My goal is for children to feel valued and parents to feel confident while they are in my care. I'm trained in infant & pediatric CPR and first aid by Red Cross. Laura is quite simply wonderful! She is the "Mary Poppins" of sitters and goes above and beyond to be wonderful with both our children. She is punctual, self-motivated to find activities for the kids and very calm. She easily transitions between toddler play and then sitting down to assist with learning and school activities with our older child. If you are in the Chattanooga, TN area then do not hesitate to reach out to her for help with your little ones. She is truly a hidden gem and we are lucky to have her care for our little ones.
