About Laura

Laura (goes by Corrie) currently cares for our 3.5 yeard old. She has been both full time and part time nanny for us for 3 years, come October 2014. She is energetic and loving. She encourages our daughter to use her imagination, and be independent. She is willing to use any parenting method we suggest, but her core personality just happens to align with the morals and views of our family- positive parenting, treating our daughter with respect, allowing her to explore her thoughts and ideas, providing care with empathy, allowing my daughter to have a voice and say (with limits, she is certainly not a brat), helping my daughter to understand her emotions, and how to manage them. My daughter misses Corrie when she doesn't see her for a few days, and her face lights up (and she goes running to Corrie) when she arrives in the morning. Corrie finds joy in my daughter the way a parent finds joy in their child. She gets as excited as I do about milestones, and is always quick with a report of the day (text messages, calls, notes). Corrie has become a part of our family. Although she technically is employed by us, it feel more like a familial relationship than a business arrangement (which is perfect for our family).
