About Laura

My name is Laura and I live on the West Hartford/ Bloomfield border. I have experience in babysitting and have over a decade of experience teaching groups of children. From ages 12-17, I ran Arts and Crafts at a summer camp in my hometown, Phoenix, AZ. It was a welcome challenge to plan crafts that would engage the oldest kids(11) while being simple enough that the youngest kids(4) could enjoy. My passion for connecting with kids led me to The Children's Museum in West Hartford, where I got to share my knowledge of animals. I loved teaching at the Museum's Preschool, where I created fun station based learning for students. I can provide references. I am experienced with animal care, so am able to take on house- sitting or petcare responsibilities. I enjoy cooking and trying out recipes, so I am able to help with meal prep. I am passionate about kindness and respect for nature. I graduated from UCONN in 2024 with a degree in Ecology/Evolutionary Bio and a minor in Studio Art.
