About Laura

I am a certified special education teacher and have taught both high school and middle school students, currently teaching in a middle school. I have an undergraduate degree in special education & elementary education, and a master's degree in curriculum & instruction. As a resource teacher, I am equipped to support students with accessing the content taught in their classes and making academic growth. I have taught/supported students with their math and English classes (all different levels) and developed and taught interventions to address individualized academic, social-emotional, and executive functioning skills. In addition to helping students reach their full academic potential, I value teaching the "whole child"- this includes recognizing and supporting the students social-emotional needs while also developing their "soft skills" (organizational skills, work ethic, work completion).
