About Laura

I currently work as an instructional paraprofessional at an area 5/6 grade school, primarily supporting students with literacy and language arts. I am very familiar and knowledgeable about the academic standards of those grade levels. During the school year, I work with students in small groups and one-on-one. I have previously worked in lower elementary as well, and am familiar with what and how many schools teach reading, literacy and language arts. I also have a background in writing, which gives me a strong grammatical foundation to help guide students in their own writing and learning. I'd describe my personality as friendly, calming and curious. One thing you should know about me is that I love to have discussions with students when they begin to think deeply about a topic, a book or a character. That's where the magic happens!
