I am extremely comfortable working with the special needs community. My younger brother is a high functioning autistic which led me to work with a lot of special needs children babysitting and teaching swimming lessons. I spent 9 years working part-time and as needed for a family who adopted 3 special needs siblings. I have traveled with the family, watched the kids while their parents were out of town, done pick ups and drop offs, helped with parties and events and whatever else the family needed. I am comfortable with special diets, administering medication, play dates, etc. My most recent experience has been with special needs adults working with two separate families with adult family members with autism and mental illness.
