Hello! I have been working as a full time professional nanny for the last 6 years. I am a former educator, having taught all levels of children from preschool through high school. I love supporting families, especially new parents! I have experience with night nursing, sleep training, traveling with families, and specialize in newborn care.

Laura cared for our children between when they were newborns and our oldest was a toddler. She was absolutely crucial and transformative for our family during that time. Our children love her so much, and I can’t imagine going through that period without her. She cared for our children beautifully and also helped coach us on the various stages of baby development. I recommend her very highly!

Laura helped me with my toddler and newborn for about 4 months. I was hesitant to invite someone into our house but she knew exactly how to fit in with our daily flow. Whether helping clean the kitchen, fold laundry, or take care of a baby she was always one step ahead of me! I never even had to ask. With her decades of experience and love for children, it was so nice to have her help. Highly highly recommend! 

Laura came highly recommended to us by friends we trust and our experience working with her has been superlative. She's cared for our 5-month-old daughter the past few weeks and it's been an amazing experience to see them interact and play together. I've been able to relax and fully concentrate on work knowing our baby is in such loving, kind, calm, and capable hands. Laura greets our daughter every day with genuine delight and our daughter in turn reaches out to her in excitement. We've so enjoyed working with Laura and look forward to doing so again in the future!   

Laura babysat for my two children (ages 4 and 3 months) and the children of a friend (ages 6 and 4) while we were in town for a reunion. The evening went off without a hitch. She clearly is very experienced dealing with infants, and seemed to have no problem putting down our baby the night she sat for us. When we got home all 3 of the bigger kids had eaten a good dinner and gone to sleep, which is as good as you can ask for! Laura was great communicating with me throughout the process. It’s always a little nerve wracking finding a sitter when you are traveling, but I felt very comfortable with Laura from the moment I first spoke with her and would recommend her highly to anyone looking for a sitter.

We hired Laura to care for our two children, an infant and three year old while we were visiting Charlottesville. I felt at ease with her from our first conversation and appreciated her kindness, dependability, and obvious talent with children. Both kids went to bed without a problem (despite being a bit cranky from traveling) and enjoyed their time with her. We would happily hire her again!

Laura is so warm and was a hit with our toddler. Our infant woke up while we were out and she got her down as well. She has a ton of experience and we felt at ease when leaving our children in her care.

Laura provided backup care for our 2 year old son for two weeks while our regular care provider was on vacation. She was wonderful and easy to work with. Our son C enjoyed his time with her and we noticed many improvements within the short 2 week time frame. We will definitely hire Laura again for our childcare needs.

Laura was an amazing childcare find for us while we were on a weekend vacation in the area. My husband and I needed a sitter for the evening and after talking to Laura on the phone beforehand, I knew I could rest easy. She is very personable and trusting. She was easy to communicate with and arrived on time. Our boys loved her and we would definitely hire her again!

Laura is a true gem. She has reliably provided excellent care for our newborn (now almost toddler). Our child lights up with smiles when Laura walks into our house. She not only has the all the basics - safety, communication, sound judgment, timeliness - but also goes above and beyond to provide engaging enrichment, to know kids as people, and to think ahead about their developmental needs. You will often find her down on the floor playing, cuddling, singing, and laughing. She brings a wealth of childcare and educational experience and serves as a resource for questions as we navigate parenthood. She has a steady energy and does not get easily thrown. Plus, she is simply a pleasure to be around. I can't recommend her highly enough!

Laura is amazing! She watched our 5 month old daughter at our hotel while we attended a wedding. We could not have left our baby in better hands! In addition to excellent communication before we arrived in town, Laura was early to lend us a hand as we got out the door, was so kind and capable playing with our baby, kept her on her regular nap, feeding, and bedtime schedule (which is no small feat for a baby on the road), and was so reassuring to us as first time parents. We have already shared her information with local friends and look forward to hiring her again next time we are in Charlottesville. If you are looking for a caregiver with significant expertise and that special sweet touch with children, you have found her.

Laura is wonderful! We love her. She will treat your children like her own and has lots of experience. Knowing that your kids are in good hands always makes being away from them easier, and that is just how we feel about Laura. She is patient, kind, genuine and so sweet with little ones. I would definitely recommend her!

Laura is wonderful: calm, seasoned, warm, and loving. We had never had anyone other than us put our 11-month-old son to bed, and she put us right at ease as we went to a wedding for the evening. She fed him dinner, read stories and he fell asleep in her arms while she was singing. There were no tears and it was easy and comfortable for baby and for us. We will hire her whenever we come back to the Charlottesville area!

Laura was fantastic with my two boys. She watched them in the hotel while we went to a wedding.  My boys felt comfortable right away.  I have no hesitation in hiring Laura again when we visit the area.

Laura watched our 18-month old son for several hours recently. She took immediate steps to bond with him, and make him feel comfortable with her. We were amazed how quickly he took to her because he's had hesitancy to do so in similar situations, but she has such a caring and thoughtful disposition he was quickly at ease. Throughout the evening, Laura proactively provided us with information, pictures and checked in after updates in his schedule (i.e. dinner, bath, bedtime, etc.), allowing us to have peace of mind and enjoy our evening out. I was so impressed with Laura and would hire her again in a heartbeat. 

Laura is amazing! We are visiting Charlottesville with our 3 little boys and needed someone for a last- minute date night. She came right away with her trusting and heartwarming smile. I was nervous about hiring someone I had never met, but I was at ease as soon as I met her! She is kind and professional and has a loving demeanor. My kids are very high energy but she made them feel calm and comforted the second she met them. We will definitely hire her again! 

We came into Charlottesville for a long weekend and were looking for a sitter so that we could go out to dinner. Laura was SOO incredibly nice and sweet. She coordinated with us, came to our hotel and stayed with our infant on 2 separate nights. She is very attentive and great with children. When we come back to Charlottesville, I'm definitely contacting Laura again. she's wonderful!

We felt immediately comfortable with Laura, who was prompt, very capable, and took great care of our little ones for mom and dad's evening out.  She is a real gem. My sons have already asked when she can "visit" again.

We hired Laura when we were in town for a wedding and she was fantastic! She face to face phone chatted with us prior to put my mind at ease, and responded promptly to any texts or phone calls. She took our very high energy 18 month old for a walk, and got him to sleep with no problem at all (not an easy feat) She then sent us a photo of him sleeping which was a very nice thing for this nervous momma. Can't say enough good things. We wish we could move her to Vermont : ) Oh, and the buses were late picking us up from the wedding and she was so nice about it!
