About Laura

Hi! My name is Laura and I'm excited to be a part of the Care. com community! I am originally from Kansas but came to the east coast for college and never left. I'm a proud aunt of 7 and I have experience babysitting for infants and children of all ages. I'm a Social Worker and really love what I do but I'm looking for occasional/part time babysitting. My work schedule is flexible but I'm mainly looking for late afternoons and occasional evening opportunities. I'd prefer to meet families briefly first so we can get to know each other and I can meet the children. Recently this has been be via online or a phone call. I find that it puts everyone at ease and makes the children feel more comfortable when I do come over to babysit. I'm happy to meet in person ahead of time but if the time (commute + time together) is more than an hour I do ask to be compensated $20 for the time.
