About Laura

I have known Laura's parents (and by extension Laura) for well over 25 years. Being a mother myself and having a Degree in Special Education, I can honestly say that I would not give a reference for anyone wanting to work with children - unless I deemed them to be worthy - both emotionally, intellectually and most importantly morally. I have personally watched Laura interact with children. Recently I witnessed as she gathered up a group of her very young cousins (5 kids under the age of 12) to take them to the beach (and the park afterwards) to give their parents a break for the afternoon. In this day & age when most young people are seemingly attached to their phones, tablets, etc......it was quite refreshing to see Laura interact with her family without the need to be dependent on electronics for healthy interaction with others. My husband has terminal colon cancer, and on more than one occasion I have found her helping him in ways that only a person who can no longer do for themselves could fully appreciate. One more thing about Laura, she does not stand around while others work she always is helping - dishes, vacuuming, bathrooms, she always busy. She likes to work out, either walking 4 miles or running, she likes healthy foods and a healthy life. I have had many talks with her about what she enjoys, and working with children has always come up during the conversations. Any family would be lucky to have this young lady involved in their children's lives, and she would be an asset for the parents too.
