About Laura

I can’t say enough good things about Laura. She was with our family for a little over a year and half and did an amazing jog taking care of my daughter from 19 months to 32 months of age. From day one, Laura jumped right in seamlessly as if she’d been with us all along. She helped care for my daughter in the mornings when she was still waking up very early and going back to sleep before daycare. She would get my daughter dressed in the mornings, create beautiful hairstyles in her hair, help brush her teeth, and take her to school. Many times, I would leave for work very early in the morning and Laura would care for my daughter on her own. I always knew my little girl would be safe and protected. I also want my daughter to grow up bilingual and asked Laura to speak to her exclusively in her native tongue, Spanish, which she did. My daughter’s teachers were very surprised when they started playing Spanish music and going over colors in Spanish, and my daughter know all the words and answers. That was because of Laura’s efforts. On the language topic, even though English isn’t her first language, Laura understands and speaks English extremely well. For me, I never minded if my nanny’s first language wasn’t English, but it was extremely important to me that I be able to communicate with the person in English and have them understand me thoroughly especially when it pertained to the health and safety of my daughter (especially during times in which she was sick, needed medications, etc.) Laura had no problem understanding those most important details. This past summer, in addition to caring for my baby girl, Laura helped care for my step-daughters, ages 8 and 10. In addition to caring for my daughter, getting her ready and taking her to daycare (and eventually preschool) in the mornings, Laura also took my step-daughters to camp each morning for two months. She also spent time teaching them Spanish at their request =) Unfortunately, we had to part ways with Laura unexpectedly two months ago due to family health and financial reasons. It was a painful split; I cried on and off during my work day on Laura’s last day with us. My daughter loved her so much and still asks about her or references her from time to time. Laura is an amazing, warm, caring, punctual, loving and trustworthy person. Any family would be lucky to have her work with them and care for their child or children. Laura knows if she ever needs anything from me or if I can help in any way, I will absolutely do my best to help her; it’s the least I can do for the love, care and consideration she showed my family, most importantly my daughter.
