About Laura

I am a patient, responsible, and creative person. I love supporting children as they grow and learn about the world. I am a NYS certified elementary school teacher (pre-K through 6th grade). I have been a substitute teacher for the Hamburg and Orchard Park elementary schools for the past 3 years. I'm looking for a childcare or tutoring job in the Buffalo southtowns. In my spare time, I like being outside in my garden, spending time with my family and friends, and listening to audiobooks. My skills include clear communication with both children and adults, patience, an enthusiam for learning, and the ability to break down educational concepts into smaller steps tailored to each individual child. When working with children, I start by meeting them where they are at. Once we establish trust, I motivate them to learn by focusing on their strengths and interests. I also encourage students to challenge themselves and keep trying even when it's hard.
