Experience: 2 yrs
When I was 8 years old, my grandmother suffered a series of debilitating strokes. She moved in with us, and my father, sister and I started caring for her. She started out simply with trouble speaking and slowly progressed to where she was entirely bed-ridden. Since then, I have had strong compassion for the elderly, and a desire to help. She died when I was 12, and then at the age of 14, my grandfather developed Alzheimer's. I have experience caring for these family members, doing things such as preparing food, feeding them, assisting with injecting insulin shots, changing clothing, cleaning the house, doing laundry and reading books. I am certified in CPR and First Aid through the American Red Cross. I love to help people every chance I get, whether it is playing the piano at nearby nursing homes, or teaching piano to the elderly to help with Arthritis.
Laura is very fond of both children and animals. Laura currently tutors the girl across the street from where they live in both piano and math and has done so for many months (I believe over a year). Laura is dependable, honest, and loyal in her dealing with others of all ages. Laura is my granddaughter; but I am giving a forthright evaluation. I do not know of all her experience since I live some 85 miles away but do know of her character.
