About Laura

Hello! I've been tutoring and providing homework support through care. com for over 10 years for grades 2-12. I hold a B. A. and M. A., and previously taught Sociology at the Univ. of MN. I enjoy helping young people understand their material, build confidence, and develop learning strategies that many schools don't explicitly teach. My tutoring is structured, calm, and supportive. Topics are: reading, writing, social sciences, manners/social skills, study skills, and general homework support. I also teach students how to learn - including organization, planning, and effective study strategies. With summer approaching, this is an ideal time for students to strengthen skills, prevent learning loss, catch up on challenging areas, and get ahead for the new school year.
