I have experience taking care of my God Mother as she transitioned from living alone to needing someone to be with her 24/7. It was either me taking care of her or another family member but for the most part it was me. I assisted with doctor visits, helping with clothes and shoes, house keeping, sometimes toileting and help with getting around on their walker. I made sure she was comfortable at all times, I would grocery shop for her even when she lived alone I grocery shopped, or picked up her medication every week. I did this for at least 15 years this was a part of my routine so I'm very much aware of the needs of senior citizens. I also have my CPR and First Aid certification.
