About Lapis

I'd describe my personality as assertive, compassionate , and creative. I love working with kids because it allows me to use my creativity, leadership, and love of teaching to help them build confidence and grow. My siblings have special needs, and caring for them has reinforced this feeling. I'm looking for a job that allows consistency in my schedule and stability in my life. I am also looking to develop a true relationship with any family I care for. I started working with kids when I was 14 years old, as I enrolled in a leadership program in summer camp that taught me to coach, teach and lead younger ages. In my spare time, I like to take dance classes, paint, practice my spanish, cook, read, and travel! One thing you should know about me is I'm willing to make changes in my approach depending on your needs. My skills include teaching strong boundaries and respect, allowing for creative /intellectual development, and ensuring that they are safe and cared for at all times.
