Hello families! As a freelance writer and long-time English buff, I decided to start helpings kiddos with reading and writing struggles. I have tutored children with dyslexia and dysgraphia, using the Orton-Gillingham approach, and easing their stress by making these subjects a little bit easier brings so much joy. Other areas of tutoring I have experience with: Sentence/paragraph structure, phonics approach to reading, writing and spelling practice, recognizing site words, pronunciation, out-load reading practice, essay and paper writing, punctuation and grammar, and so much more. I've worked with children from age 3-high school, and have years of special needs/learning disability experience; such as: autism, ADHD, ODD, Down syndrome, dyslexia and dysgraphia. I believe that boosting confidence is a huge part of helping kids and I often incorporate therapeutic music/art, along with other strategies, to make it fun, as opposed to something that is dreaded.
