Hello my name is Laine. I would like to start with the fact that I am a type one diabetic. I am currently on the Medtronic minimed pump. I have used the omnipod pump, "pens", and needles in the past so I am very diverse in diabetes products and their uses. I have worked in the past with a little girl with Down syndrome from the time she was 6 weeks till she was just about 3 till the military took her and her family away from me. I also should mention I watched her and her 3 brothers. I have no problem with dealing with special needs and other children at the same time. I work at a daycare and have watched a few preemies a starting at the age of 6 weeks till they were 1 or 2. I have taken asl 1 and know just the basics but would love to be taught more and am willing to learn. I have also taken my share of classes on special needs. I have met many lovely people with and have learned about many different special needs. There is one girl that has always stuck out in my head since the day I met her. She was a 5-year-old with cockeyne syndrome. She was the happiest little girl I have ever met. She made me want to help all I could in the special needs field!
