Hi! I'm Laila, an artist and educator in Brooklyn with extensive experience supporting neurodivergent and disabled individuals, as well as seniors with physical and cognitive challenges. I am certified in First Aid, CPR, and AED, and speak English, Urdu/Hindi, and Spanish. I have ADHD myself, which gives me genuine insight into how neurodivergent people experience the world. As an educator and caregiver, I have developed tools that work: clear expectations, consistent routines, positive reinforcement, and real flexibility. I have volunteered at G NYC, an equine therapy program for children with developmental and physical challenges, and at Extreme Kids & Crew, an accessible play space for kids with disabilities. I never take it personally when someone lashes out on a hard day, and I set boundaries that aren't based on shame or fear. I act quickly to interrupt self-harmful behaviors while minimizing stress. I am patient, creative, cheerful, and alert in emergencies.
