About Lacy

For the past 14 years, I've been teaching, tutoring, and providing childcare in numerous capacities. My two degrees are in Child/Family Psychology and Elementary Education. I've taught English immersion abroad in South Korea and Hong Kong for six years. I've provided individualized care for a child with autism in a home setting, as well as delivering scaffold instruction to students with varying abilities in several classroom settings. Alongside those experiences, I've completed around seven years of substitute teaching in public schools in my home state of Georgia, while tutoring young learners in phonics and reading on the side. I've also had one year of service in a public school in rural Alaska two years ago, and have relocated to Anchorage, where I substitute teaching and tutor. My focus is on creating an environment suitable for adaptive creativity for the student. My teaching is student-centered; I assess their needs and then facilitate activities accordingly.
