Being a caregiver is not for everyone. As they always say, It takes a special person to be one. I believe, to be a good caregiver, one has to have the COMPASSION - the deepest PATIENCE, and the ability to find JOY and LAUGHTER in any given situation . I have those, and more. And that is what makes me an excellent caregiver. I have been a caregiver for 19 years. I work full time as a scheduling manager for a caregiving company in Naperville and still manage to make time for memory care residents in a memory care community in the north suburb. I love what I do. It is a passion for me to care for the elderly. How did this start you may ask? I lost both parents at their young age. I was never there to care for them when they got sick. I made it my personal tribute to care for the elderly to honor my parents. Somehow, I am hoping that by doing so, I am making up something I never got the chance to do for them.
