About Kristie

I would describe my personality as kind, nurturing and patient. I like working with kids because I enjoy helping them grow and develop through play and interaction. I am looking for a job that I can partner with a family to provide care and learning experiences for their child/children. I started working with children after graduating from NIU with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I began my career as a Teacher Assistant in a special needs classroom. I worked with primarily non-verbal children (ages 3-5) who were on the Autism spectrum. After working for a few years in the school setting, I transitioned to becoming a full-time nanny. One thing you should know about me is that childcare is not just a job but a career. I have been a career nanny and worked with many wonderful families, whose children ranged in age from newborn through school-age. Some of my skills include multitasking, time management and great communication.
