About Kristen

I'd describe my personality as patient, kind, compassionate. I like tutoring because it is an opportunity to help a student grow in confidence, life skills and embrace new learning opportunities. I'm looking for a job that supports students with varying learning needs, life skills, social/emotional development. I've been in the field of Special Education Teacher for over 20 years. In my spare time, I like to hike, walk, beach, golf, create art, sing, dance. One thing you should know about me is that I grew up in a household of educators and with an older brother with ASD, whom we still advocate for. I am committed to meeting students where they are, naturally, working with their strengths, interests. My skills include differentiation of instruction, creativity, adaptability, modifying to create access to more challenging skills.
