I'd describe my personality as patient, kind, compassionate. I like tutoring because it is an opportunity to help a student grow in confidence, life skills and embrace new learning opportunities. I'm looking for a job that supports students with varying learning needs, life skills, social/emotional development. I've been in the field of Special Education Teacher for over 20 years. In my spare time, I like to hike, walk, beach, golf, create art, sing, dance. One thing you should know about me is that I grew up in a household of educators and with an older brother with ASD, whom we still advocate for. I am committed to meeting students where they are, naturally, working with their strengths, interests. My skills include differentiation of instruction, creativity, adaptability, modifying to create access to more challenging skills, pca, AAC, ACC device trained, safety care, positive behavior support trained, social emotional learning facilitator.
