I have worked with a nonverbal boy with autism as well as a boy with moderate mental retardation. I worked with them to create sensory experiences and improve social skills. I also am currently studying psychology and I am a child therapist working with ADHD, oppositional defiant disorder and several other diagnoses. I also have experience volunteering in a daycare for children with special needs. There I worked with children with developmental delays, including down's syndrome. I also have a 2-year-old nephew that has been diagnosed with a developmental delay. I love working with children with special needs because I know how much little changes can mean in their quality of life.
