Hello, I'm Kristen, and I have been working in elder care for 10 years. I have a son who is about to graduate high school. I am born & raised in Raleigh, and I have a degree in Communication from NCSU. My work experience includes in-home & nursing home companion care with a focus on people with dementia, in-home & preschool childcare, and a Wake County elementary school substitute teacher. In the past, I have also owned my own art business, and I have worked as an environmental educator for the NC Dept of Environment and Natural Resources. My unpaid work includes leading my son's PTA for 8 consecutive years. Elder care experience: Craft activities in nursing homes with memory care residents. Companion care for memory care residents in nursing homes. In-home companion care for people w/ dementia including cooking meals together from scratch, craft activities, housekeeping, dog care, helping them maintain their friendships and sitting on the porch eating cookies & watching the birds!

Kristen has been the best help for my mother and I. My mother has mild/medium dementia, but otherwise is in relatively good health. Kristen keeps her good company with conversations, watching TV together, doing crafts, cooking and eating together. It's a wonderful break for me to know my mother is in good hands for several hours a week
