About Kristan

Hi! My name is Kristan, and I'm a kinesiology student with a concentration in exercise science, pursuing a career in occupational therapy. I am First Aid, CPR/AED certified. I'm passionate about working with children, especially those with autism, ADHD, and other developmental needs. I have hands-on experience caring for a child with autism and ADHD, supporting daily living activities such as meals, hygiene, dressing, toileting, routines, and medication. I assist with behavioral and emotional development by maintaining structure, encouraging independence, and using positive reinforcement. I also utilize sensory and OT informed strategies during dysregulation, including deep pressure, environmental adjustments, and movement based support. I also have experience babysitting children with higher independence levels, allowing me to adapt to each child and their needs. I pride myself on being patient, dependable, caring and attentive to create a comfortable and safe environment.
