About Kindra

Hello! My name is Kindra, and I am an English teacher for grades 6-12 looking for an opportunity to work as a reading tutor in the Huntington Area. All of my experience is centered around at-risk youth education. I worked as a middle school tutor for at-risk students for 7 years. For two year, I taught English at Cammack Children's Center, a residential juvenile placement facility. This year I transitioned to Crossroads Academy, the Cabell County alternative school, where I teach English as well. I graduated from Marshall University with B. A. s in secondary education and English. I am currently working towards an M. A. in literacy education. Reading intervention is a strong passion of mine, and I am looking for an opportunity to work with students of any age who may need assistance with reading/writing acquisition, bridging comprehension gaps, or just fine-tuning their existing abilities.
