About Kim

I enjoy those moments of enlightenment, when an individual 'gets it' and understands a new concept. In those special moments, the light comes on in their mind and fills them with a sense of accomplishment. I'd describe my personality as optimistic, helpful, encouraging. I like tutoring because I can impact a young person's entire life. I started tutoring when I homeschooled my 4 children through the 8th grade.. My focus was helping them one-on-one at their desks. Later, I focused on helping them clearly define the problem and then seek out the resources needed to devise a solution. I wanted them to become more and more self-sufficient. In my spare time I like to cook, read, sing and stay physically fit. One thing you should know about me is I grew up nextdoor to the inventor of the trampoline. He helped me become an All-American gymnast. I have a strong background in Kinesiology. My skills include solving real world or story problems, algebra, geometry, physiology.
