Experience: 15 yrs
I have been caring for children for about 15 years, ages newborn-teenagers. I started as a nanny when I was 20 years old and the connections I have made with families and children over the years has given me great joy. I am a college graduate with a degree in Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Development and have previous experiences working as a nanny, and with adolescents with mental health and behavioral needs at Family & Children's Aid in Danbury, CT. To me, there is nothing more rewarding than watching young children grow to their highest potential, and knowing that I can somehow make a difference in a child's life is very meaningful to me. I am humble, empathetic, and full of compassion, but some of my best features are that I am very patient and understanding. I look forward to meeting you! :)
Kim was amazing with my son - she worked with him from about 7 months old to 11 months. She helped keep him entertained with toys, “games”, music and walks outside while I was working from home. She also took care of feeding him once or twice a day, including solids, which I was somewhat clueless on. She got him to try and eat things I didn’t think of or didn’t know how. Kim was always very patient and kind with my son and after some time, grew to be really excited whenever she came to the door. : ) Kim also helped me out with some light housekeeping and projects after we moved into our new house, which was always a huge relief and burden off my shoulders. I give the review 4 stars instead of 5, not because of any performance issue, but because I thought things were going well and then one afternoon she texted to let me know she couldn’t watch my son anymore and it wasn’t a good fit. Didn’t say why, so I’m left wondering if it was actually something I did or what. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I had no notice and was left in the lurch for a week trying to manage my work and take care of my son at the same time. Luckily I found someone to help starting the next week, but yeah. Not the greatest communication there. I would have totally understood if she just let me know, hey I found another gig that pays me more or gives me more hours or something. I prefer blunt honesty to hidden feelings or intentions.
