About Kimberly

Experience: 7 yrs

The photo is of me and my mom before her Alzheimer's got worse. I've been caring for my senior parents for 7 years and am experienced with Alzheimer's and a myriad of other medical conditions either plaguing my parents or several other seniors I assist. I make sure they're receiving the best medical care, meds, diet, & social interaction. I found there is no one truly adept at caring for our vulnerable seniors in 2006 when I really needed help, so now some of the physicians refer me to families of some of their patients. I am well-organized, compassionate, responsible, reliable, patient, listen extremely well & actually hear what is said. I have an excellent memory, truly love helping keep my seniors happy, healthy, safe & as independent as possible within their own environments. I love thinking outside the box & solving problems. I am healthy, bonded, have a safe car & driving record & am looking to add a couple of clients to my weekly schedule. I love using technology to communicate with family members, so you, too, can see what I'm seeing. I am extremely adept, observant & able to thoughtfully & efficiently communicate potential problems to physician/family before something elevates to a crisis. I am honored to spend time with my seniors & sincerely love what I do. Each day is a unique & special opportunity to bring smiles which help to forget aches & pains, share a laugh or two, or three, (smile).

It is with sincere conviction that I recommend Kimberly. She became like part of our family as she cared for my father and mother for the last few years of their lives. My sister and I live out of town so having someone as dedicated as Kim was important. She was reliable, honest, highly organized and most of all very caring. She was able to be effective with both of my folks despite their different needs. My father had dementia and was strong willed when he didn't want to do something. My mother had Alzheimers with significant memory loss and regularly repeated things and asked and re-asked the same questions. Kim had the professionalism, upbeat disposition, and most of all; patience and caring, to provide what my folks needed on a day in and day out basis. Kim is a skilled, highly organized manager who not only provided care but also interviewed and hired other care givers for us. She also has a complete understanding of Medicare, Health insurance, and the whole complicated world of prescription drug plans. She spent significant time each year helping select the best drug plan for our folks based on the particular drugs they took and through her choices we saved significant money. She regularly setup all doctors appointments and took my folks and participated in the appointments advocating for my folks who couldn't do so for themselves. She knows how to "push buttons" to obtain test results, and medical records and kept all of my parents medical information organized in order to present it to the numerous different doctors. This was an invaluable skill since the different doctors needed the whole picture. Through numerous hospitalizations Kim was our advocate and regularly caught numerous mistakes the hospitals would make with my folk's medications helping to avoid a calamity. She sets a high standard and forced my folks' doctors to meet her high expectations. She also has extremely practical skills and was the point of contact for us at my parents' independent apartment community. She interacted with the building manager getting things in the apartment repaired, and she has the skills to figure out a solution to virtually any problem. Having Kim as our quarterback while being so far away from my folks provided comfort and alleviated worry and stress.
