I have many years of caring for those with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. I spent 2 years providing in home care to a young paraplegic woman. Kim provided care-giving to my husband during the critical last weeks of his life. I would describe her care-giving style as comforting, competent and confident. She quickly demonstrated the confidence to execute a daily care routine without being managed or closely supervised -and she was very, very good at that. From day one, she knew exactly how to care for a very ill patient and easily took on all the tasks needed (like, bathing, toileting, feeding, medication management, dressing, etc). She easily communicated to us exactly what changes to expect in terms of behavioral, physical, mental and emotional changes and often gave us strategies designed to help us provide better care in her absence --and for this we are grateful beyond words. Kim was a wonderful support to my husband, and therefore, to our family. I unhesitatingly recommend her for any care-giving situation and know she is a unique caregiver with both nursing type skills and excellent caregiver skills.
