About Kimberly

My grandparents, married for 65 years, began to experience a steady decline in their health in the last five years, so our family has come together to provide them the best care possible as they navigated the difficulties of living with diabetes, cancer, and alzheimers. I regularly stay overnight to make sure there are no serious falls, that the dishes are cleaned and put away, meds are taken at their appropriate time, hydration is maintained, and that they are eating. I also understand that being a senior can be a lonely time, and so during waking hours I try to engage in conversation, take walks with them (holding their arms and walking slowly to prevent falls or injuries), and help them with projects around the house so they stay motivated, social, and as active as their medical conditions allow. I am passionate about senior care because I saw my grandparents go from active healthy individuals to bed-ridden or fall-prone, experiencing loneliness and fear that comes with it.
