About Samantha

I would like to address the woman who gave Samantha a low rating: Most horse farms separate their pasture from the barn. This allows one to retrieve and halter horses individually and lead him or her to their stall. Her pasture butted right up against the barn, making it difficult for isolating one horse at a time. Either the five horses were ill trained or they were determined to be the first to rush to their food; at any rate, I accompanied Samantha every evening because of the unsafe conditions. The horses stood hours in deep mud which causes: Hoof softening, Abscesses, White Line Disease, Thrush. The antiquated electric heating coil used to heat water to soak beet pulp was a fire hazard. One night the woman?s father came to the barn & put two of the horses in the wrong stall. When Samantha commented that the horses had different diets, he said they would be OK for an night. He also told me that Sam was a great worker & that his daughter kept the barn filthy and in ill repair.
