About Killeen

Hi! I'm Killeen, an experienced educator and private tutor specializing in elementary reading, phonics, spelling, decoding, and literacy support. I hold a BA in Liberal Studies with a minor in Early Childhood Education and have completed graduate-level coursework in education. I also work as a substitute teacher in a local school district. My tutoring is individualized to each child's needs and learning style. I especially enjoy supporting children who struggle with reading or spelling or need stronger foundational literacy skills. Lessons may include phonics, decoding and encoding, fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, writing, and engaging movement-based activities. My goal is to build skills while helping children become confident, independent learners. Sessions are held in my home tutoring space in Crockett.
