Hello, I love special needs people and how they view the world. They are quite wonderful and I have worked with profound mental and physical disabilities. I have worked at a facility first, second, and third shift. First shift deals with dental hygiene and making food and feeding the clients as well as changing their attends (diapers). Second shift deals with bathing and changing their attends and feeding them lunch and dinner as well as putting them to bed. Third shift deals with checking on them and changing attends and getting them up and dressed for the day. I enjoyed first shift the most because we have the most time to spend with the clients one on one. Even though most were nonverbal, they have their own way to communicate, just like you understand your young child and have to translate to others, I loved understanding them and them knowing who I was. They are a blessing to the world.
