About Kerstin

I have been a caregiver to my mother-in-law for about 3 years. She suffered from Dementia and required around the clock care in the last year of her life. I also have been the caregiver for an 80-year-old gentleman who suffered a stroke. I helped with his rehabilitation for the first months following the hospital stay. I have been with him during the physical and occupational therapy sessions and applied what I have learned for home exercises with him. I was responsible for meal preparation and taking him to doctor's appointments and water therapy and provided companionship and supported activities. Thankfully he recovered completely. Since the 2010/2011 school year, I am an instructional assistant in special education at an elementary school in Ojai. I am available after 3:30 p.m. on weekdays (after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays) and full-time on weekends and school breaks as well as during most holidays. I enjoy taking care of the elderly and find it very rewarding to be of such help.
