About Kennedy

Hello there! I'm an elementary school teacher with 8 years of classroom experience working with diverse populations. I have taught 1st grade for six years, 4th grade for one year, and currently teach 3rd grade. Working with multiple grade levels has given me experience supporting a wide range of learners. I enjoy helping students strengthen their foundational reading skills using SOR practices. I have experience with programs such as UFLI Foundations, Heggerty, HMH Into Reading, and Schoolwide Literacy. I also have experience teaching math using the IM (Illustrative Mathematics) curriculum as well as Bridges Math Intervention. My goal as a tutor is to create a positive and supportive environment where mistakes are welcomed and seen as stepping stones in a child's learning journey.
