My passion of working with people with special needs began in high school. I was enrolled in the partners program where I assisted students with special needs in learning activities of daily living through skills training and peer mentoring. After high school I attended Montgomery County Community College and worked at Indian Creek Foundation providing 1 on 1 care to adolescents with Autism. I also was a private nanny for 5+ years for a family with 5 children, one of which had cerebral palsy and used a wheelchair. After getting my Associates Degree from Montco, I transferred to West Chester University where I completed 60+ credits towards a Social Work degree. I got hired at a Center for Independent Living where I worked for 10+ years as a Program Coordinator. I worked with people with all kinds of disabilities. I have been a stay at home Mom for the last 11 years to 2 kids aged 11 and 17. I have a flexible schedule and I am ready to put my skills to good use.
