About Kelsey

We were referred to Kelsey by a close friend a few years ago, and she’s basically become the go-to pet sitter for our entire friend group since then. Sometimes, she even watches all our dogs at the same time and we love getting the group photos of them all playing together. We have a 2-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer, Esme, who used to have pretty severe separation anxiety that came with some challenging behaviors - excessive barking, whining if left alone (even for short periods), chewing everything in sight, damaging doors and other stuff. We had one sitter but they ended up not being able to handle it and asked us to find a replacement. When Kelsey was referred by our friend, we honestly didn't know what to expect and worried we might have another flakey person who says they can handle it but change their minds. Kelsey was not that. Before we even had a plan in place to address the anxiety, Kelsey shared resources, tips, and observations that were very helpful in developing the training through our vet and behaviorist. Today, Esme is a totally different pup and we can definitely tell that Kelsey is happy to see the progress and be a small part of the improvements she has made. Kelsey is also very intentional about safety, which we really value. She never leaves dogs from different households alone together, feeds them separately, uses cameras for monitoring, and pays attention to details that a lot of people might overlook. Another big plus is that the dogs are never left alone for more than four hours, which makes a huge difference for a dog like ours. If I had one minor complaint, it would be that she can sometimes be a little slow to respond to texts. That said, we understand she’s balancing a lot between being a mom, school, and pet sitting. When we brought it up, she was very receptive and communication has improved. Overall, we trust her completely and feel very comfortable leaving Esme in her care.
