As a former Special Education teacher who was certified in LD/BD, I have years of experience working with children K-12 who have varying degrees of individualized needs, both academic and social/emotional. Prior to teaching in the public schools, I often did respite work for parents of special needs children, especially for those within the autism spectrum. I have experience working with mild to moderate sensory processing issues as well as those who have more profound communication challenges. I am very good at implementing any goals set forth by other professionals such as OT, Speech/Language or Board Certified Behavior Analysts.
