My work with children started with my much younger siblings and then included neighborhood babysitting all through my teen years. I got a degree in psychology and education (a combined major). I taught preschool for 6 years and kindergarten for three years (all the while babysitting) before moving to a back-up child care center where I worked with children aged 3 months through 12 years. I was lead teacher at that center for one year, assistant director for one year, and director for 14 years. After some time as a field director and trainer, I took a role as a nanny and house manager. The kids are growing up and going to school, so I am no longer needed full time.
