We phone screened Kaylee, and had an in person meet and greet with the kids. It went well so we moved forward with hiring Kaylee. She was upbeat and had good communication. She set up her account and paid for background check and we thought everything was moving in a fantastic direction. She also stated how much she values communication and I believed her. She was supposed to come on Monday, but messaged me that morning she was unable to come because she was having health issues. That night she said she was better and she would be able to come the next day. I said see you tomorrow and was excited to have her start. The next morning was chaos. I got the gate opened for her, and had to quickly wash the baby before her arrival because he had a blowout. I got everything done quickly anticipating her 7:50am arrival but she wasn't there. I then texted her I had to go get gas and her to wait in the car (so my mother could drive our daughter to preschool at 8:10am). She never texted back. I got home after getting gas and she still wasn't there. I then realized that she was not coming, and texted her my mom would watch the kids. Kaylee was a no show with no communication she wasn't going to be able to make it. Days later she still hasn't texted me and told me what happened. I could see she was active on care.com multiple times daily, so she is very much alive. Anyways, we lost 2 days of work relying on Kaylee. I still don't understand how a person can do this to someone. It will never make sense to me. I do not recommend Kaylee and I hope this never happens to another family.
