We were initially very encouraged by Kayla’s responsiveness and communication—she proactively checked in and confirmed both the start date and weekly schedule for caring for our dad. However, on her confirmed start date, she simply didn’t show up. There was no call or message, and when we reached out to see what had happened, she claimed she didn’t know she was scheduled—even though we had confirmed everything just two days prior. Trying to be understanding, we gave her another chance and confirmed a new start date via text. Unfortunately, the exact same thing happened again: she didn’t show up and never contacted us to cancel or explain. Both instances left our family in an incredibly stressful and vulnerable position, as we were depending on her to provide essential care. While Kayla initially came across as communicative and professional, her actions proved otherwise. We found her to be highly unreliable, and we cannot recommend her based on our experience. Proceed with caution if you are considering hiring her.
