About Kayla

Hi! My name is Kayla, a creative, nurturing, patient, and vibrant 1st grade teacher who is attending Clark Atlanta University. I am CPR certified, skilled in first aid/water safety, and have tutored various subject for grades K-5 with Teach For America. I have extensive experience inside and out of the classroom as I have also worked in babysitting, nannying, and daycare assistance with various schools/academies for 6+ years. I believe that when caring for children it is important to create both an emotionally and physically safe relationship with the child to ensure that they feel protected and secure to be themselves. As someone who pairs her heart for nurturing with a passion for educating, I also never miss an opportunity to expand the knowledge of the students and children that I serve through creative activities! Given my skills and personality, I will be able to connect with your child on a friendship level while still providing them with a supervised and stable environment! :)
