Experience: 6 yrs
I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old. I have experience working with children from ages 0-12years of age. Some other experience I have includes working in a childcare facility at a local gym for 8 months, caring for kids and also coaching sports/summer camps. I have also worked in a daycare and nannied before. I am willing to help with whatever needed in the home. I just got back from serving a full-time mission for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Peru for 18 months.
Kayden was a God-send for us through one of our most vulnerable stages in life. She started working for us when I came back from maternity leave after the birth of my second and gracefully shouldered the burden of caring for a toddler and infant. She was kind and always gentle with our tantruming toddler, and adapted so well with our high-needs baby. I will never be able to thank her enough for being willing to drive up to SLC several times a week to watch my baby in a hotel room so I could attend a conference for my job. When I felt like I was drowning, she was there for my family. My three-star rating is for her reliability and transparency near the end of her working with us. I am not sure if she was getting burned out (don't blame her if so), but she was starting to call in to her shifts more and more. Both my husband and I are under strict schedules with work and it strained our standing with our companies to have so many days where we'd have to work from home. She was planning on working with us through the next semester, and we did our best to be flexible where we could. When asking for a Monday off and we responded asking if she could manage a half day or make up the hours later in the week, she quit altogether, stating that she had found work elsewhere for the coming semester and could no longer work for us. A standard work contract would ask for at least a two week notice for us to find replacements (that's on us, we'll include that in contracts moving forward), but her actions resulted in disciplinary action for me. If you decide to hire Kayden (which you would not regret doing so, as far as care goes), I advise including a clause in your contract about expected hours, makeup hours for backup, and advance notice of leaving.
