Hello! My name is Katy. I live in the San Diego area and am looking for families who would like to keep my contact for date night in-home childcare, weekend care, events/weddings, house sitting and pet sitting. I have been working in elementary schools for 4 1/2 years. I was previously a health technician and am currently an after school program coordinator. I also have experience in special education.

Kids enjoyed having her as a babysitter, but she cancelled last minute 4 out of the 6 times we hired her.

Katy is a girl from the city in California who has very different ideas about how people in the country should raise kids. My wife had multiple brain aneurysms and I was suddenly thrown into being a single parent of 3 kids under 10, two of which are special needs. Had I made mistakes, absolutely! But I did have all 3 children in counseling and I was learning every day from the counselors on how to do better. Instead of Katy partnering with me to be a better parent during this unprecedented and tragic time, she sat back and started taking notes on everything that I was doing wrong. Then, when I caught my autistic son hitting Katy and not stopping even after she was dropped him on the floor multiple times to try and stop him, I stepped in and stopped him to prevent him from hurting Katy or Katy from hurting him. I took him to his bedroom, explained to him why hitting is wrong, and then paddled his backside for his disobedience to Katy. This apparently was all it took for Katy to quit the next day without notice and then report me to the police.  The police completed a full investigation on my parenting, all while my wife was in the hospital near death, and found not a single thing that I was doing was illegal. In fact, they agreed with me that Katy must care more about her ego, than even the children, for not mentioning her concerns to me before reporting them. For example, she reported me for having my wife's medication on the counter when they were all in child proof containers. How was I supposed to know that child proof containers where not child proof? Regardless, Katy left them there for weeks without even mentioning a word to me about her concern. It literally took me 2 minutes to correct the issue once brought to my attention. Regardless, Katy thinks that she is a expert on parenting even though she has no children of her own and is apparently very much against corporal punishment even though it is not illegal. The biggest mistake that I made was not asking Katy ahead of time if she was ok with it. With my wife dying in the hospital, I had a little more than I could handle on my plate and I missed this detail. Trust me, after what Katy put me and my children through, I will not make that mistake again!

Katy was great with 8b and 2g. She was punctual and communicative. I would gladly have her sit for us again. 

Katy was great! She was adaptable to our scheduling needs and sent us updates through the night of our little one!

Katy was great. She updated us throughout the night and by the time we got home our son was sleeping peacefully in his bed.

Katy is phenomenal! She made my first experience using Care.com great. She responded quickly and was available short notice on a Friday night. My kids instantly warmed up to her. My 2 year old normally throws a fit when he sees me leave but he was calm and happy. My 6 year old was excited to meet her and raved about how much fun she had with her the next day. She asked to please have her come back to watch them. Most importantly she kept in contact with me during the evening and even sent a photo to ease my mind. 

Katy was amazing watching 4 kiddos (ages 1-6). She was a delight and our kids loved her. She played, made and feed them dinner, and put them to bed. Katy was really good at keeping the parents updated throughout the night which eased my mama heart. We will absolutely hire Katy again when visiting San Diego!

Katy was amazing! She took great care of my son during our party. Friends and family were commenting on how friendly and caring she was. Katy treated my son like he was her own. She is definitely great at what she does. Whenever I need care for my son, Katy will be the one I call.

Katy was the perfect choice to watch our two boys. She was prompt and warm. They can't wait to have her visit again. One of my kiddos has a severe allergy and she let us know that she is trained to use an epi-pen, which made me feel really secure. We will definitely contact her again for future childcare needs.

Katy was amazing! This was our first time using Care.com and were a little apprehensive at first but Katy put all our concerns to rest. She was excellent at communicating prior to showing up, was on time, great with our son and followed up afterwords. Overall great experience and would recommend her to anybody needing help with childcare.

Katy was great and my kids had a fun time with her.  They instantly asked, when can we have her back over! Thanks Katy for letting us have some alone time. It was a win, win, win for all.

My kiddos loved their time with Katy! We hired her last minute before attending an event downtown. Katy is kind and caring and clearly enjoys working with kids. My two took to her right away. Katy played a ton of games which tired them out and when we returned they were both fast asleep. Kids can't wait until she sits for them again!

Katy was amazing! Always kept in contact with us and even sent pictures of our little guy. We hired her for our wedding and she made it so easy for us to relax, knowing she was taking good care of our son.

Katy is fantastic! She took excellent care of our one year old daughter. She is flexible and was willing to come earlier than planned. Would definitely hire Katy again and highly recommend!

Katy was such a great baby sitter for my 1 1/2 year old daughter. She checked in with me to confirm prior to the date, went over instructions thoroughly, and sent us updates when we asked!  :) highly recommend Katy!!

Our girls loved Katy!  She was professional and our girls had so much fun with her!

Katy did an amazing job with our special needs child and packed a lot of activity in a short amount of time. She followed our instructions exactly as anticipated and communicated well before, during and after her visit to our home. Even our geriatric dog  benefited from her care-giving. Can't wait to hire her again!

Katy was amazing at helping us out with daycare pick up and watching our daughter in the afternoon. She communicated with me throughout the afternoon and I knew our daughter was having a great time! Would definitely hire her again!
