About Katy

Hi there! My name is Katy and I'm 26 years old. I've been working with kids since I was 16-starting with summer camps and babysitting, which completely sparked my love for teaching. Today, I'm an elementary ENL teacher for the DOE (grades K-2) with a degree in Childhood Education and in TESOL. I also have six years of experience as a behavior intervention specialist for students with autism and other disabilities. Because of my background, my tutoring style is super personalized. I don't just do boring worksheets; I love using educational games and hands-on activities to keep things fun, while still keeping the structure and routine kids need to succeed.
