Hi! My name is Katie, I am 24, and originally from Kansas City. After moving to MS last year, I just completed my first year teaching special education inclusion here in Forrest county. I have my bachelor's degree in educational studies from KSU. At WCU, I am working on my master's in special education. I have a little sister that is 12 years younger than I am, giving me ample opportunities to babysit growing up. I have taken care of a family with four children - twin toddler boys, and two elementary aged girls with the mother leaving for 12 hours at 6:30 in the morning. I have worked in daycare, preschool, and elementary classroom settings. I favor hands-on activities and being active with my students. On the other hand, I don't like the thought of letting kids sit in front of or work on a screen all day. It is my belief that children strive with routines and schedules.
