About Katie

I'm an experienced educator with 13+ years in the classroom, teaching children from K-2, as well as PK4 and toddler programs. I earned my degree in Elementary Ed. with a concentration in Children's Literature from Longwood University. I bring a deep love of literacy, storytelling, and child-centered learning into everything I do. I believe children learn best when they feel safe, seen, and celebrated. My tutoring style is supportive and encouraging, with a focus on building confidence, strengthening foundational skills, and helping children develop a genuine love of learning. I value routine and structure while staying flexible to meet each child's unique needs. Above all, I believe every child is capable, unique, and deserving of respect, and I'm passionate about supporting the whole child with kindness, patience, and gentle guidance.
